Important - we will be showing you how to make free agent teams. This does not relate to school or "Club" accounts.
Before you can make your own Free Agent Team you will need to have a registered and verified varsity esports account and have purchased a Winter Battle Pass. If you have not done so, please refer to our article on Getting Started as a Free Agent
Once you're registered and have a Season Pass, you will see an option to create a team under "Team" on the side bar of your dashboard.
Selecting "Create Team" will take you to a team creation page where you will be able to begin your Team's registration process. Enter your team's name and select the "Save" button.
With your team created you will be taken to your team dashbord. From here you will be able to invite others to join the team and create rosters to compete in the tournament.
Before you can create a roster you will need invite others to your team. Select Members on the dash bar and select "Invite" This will bring up a popup giving you two options of inviting a team member, either through email or using a direct link. We suggest using the email option.
Simply add the email address of the student you wish to invite and select Send at the bottom of the popup. Now that you have team members its time to make a roster for the game(s) you wish to play in the tournament. Select "Rosters" on the left hand dash bar, and once you are on the roster page, select "Create New" at the top of the page.
Keep in mind that students who you wish to add to your roster will need to have a verified account, along with their game connections set for the game you wish to participate in and their own battle pass purchased. If they do not have all three of the requirements taken care of, they will not able to join the roster until they have taken care of any missed step.
Set your Roster's Name, select which game the roster will be playing and make sure you select if the roster type is for a 1-on-1 game (Fortnite, Hearthstone, etc) or a Team game (Overwatch, CS:GO, R6, etc). To add members, select the text box and a drop down menu will appear with the names of all team members who are eligible to participate on this specific roster. Once you're done click save and your roster will be stored on your team information, repeat the roster steps for every roster you wish to create.
Once your team and rosters are all set, its time to register them for the tournament. For steps on how to register your roster for its specific game tournament please follow the steps detailed in the Enrolling in Tournament article
