This is a quick starter guide to help you get set up as a Free Agent on Varsity Esports.
Step One: Sign Up
Using the registration form on Varsity Esports, sign up for a student account. Make sure to verify your email address once signing up.
Step Two: Get Verified
Once you have created your Free Agent account and logged into Varsity Esports, you will need to verify your high school student status. That step is necessary before you can participate in our Open tournaments. Students who are members of partnered school clubs automatically become verified and can participate in all tournaments. It typically takes 1 business day for your application to be accepted.
Click your profile icon and select "Verification" from the dropdown menu. Fill out the form and provide proof of enrollment. We accept current year Student IDs, most recent report cards and letters from teachers stating that you're currently enrolled in high school as proof of enrollment. All fields are required.
Step Three: Inputting Payment
After you have submitted your verification, it's time to pay. To do this, select Pay Center on the left hand side of your dashboard page.
This will take you to the Student Pay Center, once on the pay center page select "Add a Payment" under the Payment Manager section.
Once you payment method has been entered your Pass Status section will update allowing you to purchase a seat for the upcoming Open.
Select the Tournament you wish to enter from the drop down menu and select continue to complete your purchase
Step Four: Game Connections
Before a you can be added to a roster or compete in a tournament you will need to set your game connections for each game you with to compete in. You can establish their game connections by clicking on your name in the upper right hand side of the screen and selecting settings from the drop down menu. Once in the setting menu select Connections and then Add Game Connection. Students can add any game they have with an in-game identifier.
Once you have completed all steps listed above, you will be able to be invited to a team and a roster to compete in the Winter or Summer Open. If you wish to create your own team please review the "Creating a Free Agent Team" article on the help site.
